CCM Rep handover and Holiday Pay Survey Results

Dear Members,

As announced in my email from August 3rd we have received the results of the survey regarding variable pay on vacation days. Participation was strong, with a response rate of 84%.

Q1 – Should Skyshare enforce average variable pay for vacation days in line with applicable legislation?

75% Yes, 16% No, 9% Undecided

Q2 – Should Skyshare renegotiate (lower) variable pay rates so overall cost to the company doesn't increase, or increases less?

82% No – expect current variable pay rates to be paid in full when calculating vacation pay

9% Yes – would accept a slightly lower rate, still resulting in more total pay than today, but less than full rates

2% Yes – renegotiate so the company's overall cost doesn't increase at all

7% Undecided

The results give us a clear direction: strong support for pursuing average variable pay for vacation days under the applicable legislation, with most members not favouring a trade-off through lower rates.

We will now seek legal advice to assess our specific legal position and determine next steps.

Meet&Greet Review

I'd also like to thank those I had the chance to meet in person in Paris for their honest feedback and the points they raised. I found these conversations valuable and plan to repeat the format towards the end of the year at one of our main airports.

Cabin Crew representatives

 As mentioned in my previous message, the new cabin crew representatives were using the time since the vote for a handover, which is now complete. 

As we had some questions in the matter, the two representatives together with Richard Tolley as a member of the EC will represent the cabin crew members and will together form the JNB to negotiate with the company and address your concerns. Therefore, Richard will get access to the cabin crew email address shortly. The option to contact individual representatives if you should feel it to be the better option is still available.

The change to the rule book to add a permanent seat for the CCMs will follow at a later stage, together with multiple other changes which are needed to better reflect the current reality and to improve future changes in the union. This process can be reviewed in the Skyshare rule book chapter 17.
